Hey guys!! I am very excited today to be announcing all of the details for the 2014 Hoard Sale! If you are new to the party, here is the low down..
(All images are from previous Hoard Sales)
The Hoard Sale started about a year after the blog began. All of that thrifting had started to pile upΒ So I threw up a few funny ads on Craigslist and had a little yard sale. Since that first sale, I have teamed up with Brooke and let me tell you, our furniture buying skills are legendary. Over the years it has morphed from a yard sale to an 8 AM party of Black Friday proportions. (You can see the posts about previous salesΒ here, and here.)
There is basically a street full of amazing furniture and home decor. Nothing else. No clothing, no baby toys, no weird medical equipment. Just really cool furniture. Some was bought specifically for the sale, some you will recognize from the blogs, and some was bought with great hopes and dreams in mind that just haven’t come to fruition.
We are selling chairs, dressers, tables, lighting, art, books, knick knacks, headboards, Basically if you can put it in your house we will have it.
The festivities will kick off Saturday May 31 at 7:30 with the dance off. Oh yes. The dance off. A handful of willing participants groove their guts out for a chance to be admitted into the sale early. It. is. AWESOME. Also, my neighbors love it. The sale itself will start at 8 AM.
You will want to be there early I promise.
Here is a little video we put together from last year:
So because I don’t want to post my address on the internet, if you are interested in coming please submit your email address below and I will be sending out an email with all the deets.
The sale is in St. George Utah and unfortunately none of the items can be sold and shipped.
It would be almost impossible to photograph the entire selection of furniture that will be sold, but I really want you to get a glimpse of a few pieces. Follow along with #hoardsale2014 to see some of the treasures!
Cant wait to see you there!!
shut it up! so i live in atlanta and my parents after 50-60 years here randomly decided to retire to middle-of-i’ve-never-heard-of-it, Utah. they leave in a week. i thought they were pretty lame and were basically relocating to some old folks swingers plantation. and then this. i see this. and my parents’ new address is in st. george, utah, and now i’m just scheming of ways to puppetmaster my mom into snagging me some of your treasures. i’ll definitely be scheduling a future visit there based on the Hoard Sale. love your style and spirit!
Am I missing the actual date or the sale, or will that be sent to our email as well?
It says in the post (above the dancing picture) Saturday May 31st
Hi! I totally came to the hoard sale last year and scored an amazing dresser. We just moved and I will not be able to attend, but I had to tell you that yesterday I went to a value village near my home and I found the most amazing leather chair with Ottoman. It was in fabulous condition and only $40. The only problem there was an old lady sitting near it basically hugging it until her husband could come and see it. I was devastated! Okay, do you think I am nuts for thinking of you every time I go thrifting? ahahah, not in a creep way I promise! have fun this year!!! I’m totally going to miss out!
As I have said every year, I’m super jealous that I can’t go to the hoard sale & wish I lived closer! BUT I love seeing all of the posts and pictures about it & seeing all of the Utah people getting excited for it. Can’t wait to see this year’s hoard sale!!! Have fun everyone π
Hi Im Shelly long term oggler fist time commenter. Just have to say how upset i am that I live all the way in Detroit. (Michigan IS pretty far awat from Utah…right) Anywho I’m super jealous that i can’t come to the sale. IT LOOKS AWESOME!
Dang it! Another year where its the only weekend I’m NOT available. π
Seriously contemplating a cross country trip… From FL…lol! You St. George-ians are super luck that my crazy dance moves aren’t gonna be there π shop well, I will be living vicariously through your Instagram pics π π π
What a brilliant idea! Here in Santa Barbara, I’m planning a regular ol’ yard sale–minus the baby toys and medial equipment, mind you, but likely minus a dance off too as our neighbors would throw a fit. I wish I could go to yours!
Oh Emm Gee. This is freaking hilarious. Loved the video! Oh, how I wish I could be there.
IT would almost be worth the drive from Texas. π
Ummm… you’re my hero. Seriously. Who does this? And a DANCE OFF?!?! So wish I lived anywhere near there. I’d be all over that with my funky groovy self π Have fun!
Gah! I wish so badly I didn’t live so far away! I doubt my husband would let me drive from Indiana to Utah to buy some furniture. π Looks like you have some great stuff!
I don’t think I’ve EVER wanted to visit Utah in my life till now!!!I really wish there was a way for you to do an online sale of sorts for those of us who r across the country from you! I’m sure I’m not the first to suggest this but I’m 100% serious about it!!! You have no idea how awesome it would be to be a part of this. π Yes I did just pull out a sad face. Lol I want to personally invite you to stay in our home if you are EVER in the Nashville Tn area!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE all the amazing things you do. So much so that when I saw a post you did with leather from an old leather jacket I immediately found 2 of them hiding in the back of our closets and took them apart that day! ! My sweet fiancΓ©e came home to me doing it and was all “baby, do I even wanna know why you’re doing this?” Lol I said I saw it on your page and you never know when you might have a project that old leather is the only choice. Lol So please come to visit Nashville so you can help me go from project wanna try to project done!!! I’ve got lots to work with, lots of energy, I’m a great cook, and I live 5 minutes from the most awesome water park ever!! You’d have a blast that’s for sure!! I’m a fan that really needs your help!! If interested please let me know!!! Did I mention how awesome Nashville is awesome!!!
Oh my. If only I could get to Utah – I’d be shaking my booty like no one had ever seen before. Have fun girls! Perhaps next year I need to plan a mini-vaca just for Hoard Sale 2015!
Hi Mandi! I spied the light blue chairs and royal blue card catalog from your living room! those are items I admired in your “house tour”… if you sold them, that means new tour photos are due! I live in San Jose, CA so I can’t make the hoard sale so I am very jealous to miss it! Don’t ever stop blogging! I love your posts.
I would love to try to make it to your hoard sale. I am in Richfield utah. What is your address pretty please???
So can you pick me up a few pieces and send them to Austin, TX (I’ll pay you back)??!!!!!! I would love to attend, but have to see it through the eyes of the hostess. Hope you and your family have a great Memorial Weekend.
Please send address ill be there!,,
